Awesome staff, great location, cosy room, good food incl. the very fairly-priced honesty bar, wildlife sightings directly at the lodge, overall very good value for money
This place is a gem, in a beautiful place that was a complete surprise!
The cosy warm and comfortable lodge was a lovely place to return to after a walk. We watched wallabies, Woylies and Tassie devils come onto the lawn right outside the lounge window.
A great place to escape to. Very relaxing. Nice meal, good value for money.
What a place to stay and unwind. The lodge was homely and had all you could want. Staff were really helpful and showed us all the wildlife in the surroundings after dark. Wombats, wallabies and even Tasmanian devils.
Such an incredible sense of peace and serenity. Being able to see the wildlife- kangaroos, Tasmanian devils and Kwolls in their natural environment. Delicious dinner and breakfast.
Very unique experience, lots of history and very interesting landscape.
Gorgeous property on gorgeous land. Good was great. Place was super clean. Just beautiful. Highly recommend.
A most magical place indeed. A time to explore and relax with a wonderful experience with the Tassie devils and quolls. The stars in the night sky were truly amazing. Excellent food including a prepared picnic lunch completed our stay. Thank you Bec for the welcome you gave us.
In a very isolated location on the Central Plateau of Tasmania. Surrounded by native moorland landscapes, glacial lakes and LOTS of wildlife. The location alone makes this a great place to stay, but in addition the food and general hospitality are excellent.
What an amazing place ! The history alone is a draw are and once you arrive you just dont ever want to leave. Pristine environment including rivers and lakes and amazing wildlife . Dinner at the lodge is first class and the bar is well stocked with Tasmanian wines and spirits. The rooms are modern and well appointed . What an amazing experience
OMG everything!! From isolation, the Den, the wildlife, the staff, comfort, food. Absolutely perfect
The remoteness, wild animals and meals. And we had a mix of weather from sun to snow
We liked everything! The accommodation was wonderful- the perfect atmosphere for refreshing, slowing down, and enjoying nature. Bec couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The outside environment was just stunning- amazing and interesting landscape, wombats, quolls, and Tassie Devils. The inside environment was warm, cozy, and the perfect place to unwind. Bec has managed to create this amazing space that feels simultaneously like you are at home and also experiencing amazing luxury and service. The attention to detail was impeccable and carried all the way through from the detailed directions and trail markers for bush walking, a lovely picnic provided for your outdoor adventures, down to the lodge having winter gear that you can borrow.
Excellent breakfast. And a bonus for not wasting loads of food. The day pack for lunch was great too
This is a beautifully situated lodge which feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. It is perfect for nature lovers, sporty types and fishermen. We celebrated our honeymoon and anniversary there. Rebecca the manager, went above and beyond for us. She did so many extra little things for us to make our trip memorable. Rebecca and the other staff member were wonderful. They really made our stay very special. Rebecca I cant thank enough. Rebecca listened to what we hoped to achieve with our stay. She then planned our next couple of days to suit our needs. She made our stay completely unique to us. Best of all, I over heard her doing the same thing for every other guest. The bedrooms were comfy and the bed was a dream to sleep in. The two common areas were beautifully appointed and kept clean. The rooms felt homely and welcoming.
great host who went well out of her way to make our 2 day experience simple amazing
It allowed us to explore and discover.
Beautiful building and location, lots of cool animal sightings, very committed staff doing an excellent job, there's no phone reception or internet so absolutely the place to disengage with the world.
really exclusive and remote location
Great food, great staff and fantastic natural environment in the middle of Tasmania, with no other hotel/house in sight, able to view lots of local animals such as Tasmanian Devils, Wallabies, Wombats, etc. Staff was super helpful and friendly and we had a most restful expereience here.
A great place if you like wilderness and wildlife. Not a conventional, impersonal hotel but a friendly lodge. Limited menu but thats to be expected staying miles from anywhere. The food we had was excellent and I think the smell of the lamb shanks must have attracted the Tassie Devils - didnt expect to see one looking through the window while we were eating! Becs local and extensive knowledge was good to hear too.
the property itself was lovely.
Great getaway with good ambience and a friendly, informative host. Enjoyable stay with good food and opportunity to explore the area and chat with other travellers
Great location , lovely night sitting around fire chatting with newfound mates.
